    Supply Chain Management
    Instructor:  John Henson
Supply chain management (SCM) is a combination of art and science to improve the way companies find the raw components to make a product or service and deliver it to customers. The five basic components of SCM are: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return. All contributors to an enterprise need a basic knowledge of planning and control of materials/resources into, through and out of the organization. This course provides that understanding and the foundation to take the APICS CPIM examination for Basics of Supply Chain Management. $190 for Text and workbook.

    LEAN for Manufacturing
    Instructor:  Bill Noz
Lean means producing with minimum waste and waste has many forms: material, time, over production and excess inventory. Using lean processes companies see improved quality, faster throughput and lower manufacturing costs. This one-day seminar introduces and applies the fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing. Concepts include: Value-Added & Non-Value-Added, Waste, Value Stream construction & analysis, Process Flow – push vs. pull, Velocity, Throughput & Lead time and Future State construction & implementation. With members of the class you will form a cross functional team and experience the impact of applying the fundamental concepts to a simple problem.

    SPI USA Biomanufacturing Seminar
Instructor:  Tom Burkett and Robert O'brien
This workshop focuses on the topics of fermentation, cell culture, separations and purification. It is designed to explain why and how bioprocessing is able to produce complex protein products starting from simple microorganisms and cells. The course is presented in practical terms and includes many examples that illustrate the basic principles. This is a "hands-on" workshop, with a balanced mix of lecture and laboratory practice where participants can learn the actual handling of bioprocessing equipment representative of manufacturing conditions. Class size is limited to maximize lab participantion and interaction with the instructor.
